Hello from Mrs Brooks

Good morning Year 2

Hope you are all keeping safe and well at home. I am missing teaching you all!
I would love to hear all about what you have been getting up to while we have not all been at school together. Feel free to leave me a little message to let me know. 
Miss Shipp, Mrs Peek and I are getting a few activities ready for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week and we will upload these to the blog as soon as possible.
I'll look forward to reading your messages.

    Hello Mrs Brooks it is Evie. I have been playing in my garden, doing PE with Joe, learning timetables and handwriting. Mummy is now helping me finish my mini beasts report. We are reading Harry Potter when my sister is in bed. At 3 o’clock we are making a cake and we are building a new sandpit. On Monday my grandad is FaceTime me for my spelling test. Pops has chosen words from the big year 2 list. I miss you and my friends.

    It sounds like you are doing some wonderful home learning. We are doing Joe Wicks every morning in my house too. Well done on finishing your minibeast report. I hope your cake was yummy.     Hello Mrs Brooks, Stephen here, I have been doing lots this week-I made a scavenger hunt and went for a long walk enjoying the sunshine, we found everything but the caterpillar - but I actually found one in my garden later that day, so I decided to make a habit ate for it and watch its life cycle over the coming weeks. I've also been help make pasta and completing activities on education city and other apps, practicing my spellings, reading and counting money for our home tuck shop!     Hello Mrs Brooks! It's Isaac. I miss you and Miss Kirk. I have been playing with Lego, I made a rocket, a roller coaster and a house. I have been practising my spellings too. I have played on my trampoline and done PE with Joe Wicks. Mum has some craft things to do. I have been riding my bike. We made a rainbow and a key for our window to cheer people up. The key is to say thank you to key workers like you. I am doing science in education city. Love from Isaac xxxxxxxxxx

      Hello Isaac! I bet you have made some lovely models with your lego! Will done. Great work on trampolining and biking, I bet that was great fun. We have been doing Joe Wicks and made a big rainbow for our window too and have enjoyed spotting them when we have walked around our village. I'm so glad you are enjoying all your activities.     Hello Mrs Brookes & Mrs Peek, it’s Leila!
    I have loved doing my mini beast work and enjoyed designing my habitat on the computer.
    I’ve done a few things on education city, been on a mini beast hunt on the common, and a 3D shape hunt around my house. Done some PE with Jo Wicks and have really enjoyed doing some Cosmic yoga. I’ve been learning lots about money and set up a snack shop where I have £1 at the start of the day and then when I visit I have to work out how much I have spent on snacks and what my change is.

      Hi Leila! Its lovely to hear all about the work you have been doing. We love Cosmic Yoga in my house too! We have been doing it in the mornings.     Hi mrs Brooks it is milly I have been doing lots of work sheets my daddy and my brother and me we have been doing joe wicks pe. I have been doing lots of baking we cooked vanilla bun and chocolate corn flake cakes I am missing you teach me bye love from milly.

      It sounds like you are doing some fantastic home learning and some lovely baking. Were the cakes yummy? Joe Wicks PE is great fun isn't it. We are going to do some baking tomorrow in my house. weekly news 2.10.20

Dear Parents, it's been another lovely week and it was great to meet a lot of you at our Zoom parents evenings. Please could you send in a small disposable plastic water bottle before Thusday? We are doing something with them during our Science lesson on Thursday and it would be great if every child had a bottle to use please. This week we have enjoyed making whale pictures in Art, using a wax resist method and then marbling the backgrounds. We also had a session of listening to dolphin and whale sounds and music and drawing abstract art and patterns. This was done in a similar style and manner to how Kandinsky likes to work. We are all enjoying reading George's Marvellous Medicine together during our snack/story time after play every day. We have also started improving our handwriting every morning, during registration.
