In maths, we solved missing number problems using bar and part whole models. To find the missing numbers we had to decide whether we needed to add or subtract.

We enjoyed our Multi Skills trip on Tuesday. We were able to practise many PE skills and take part in a range of activities and games. We were all very proud to earn a certificate for our super efforts.

We are now coming to the end of our first Year 2 topic, Muck, Mess and Mixtures so in art, we sketched a masterpiece and considered the resources and materials that we would need to make our final piece.
On Wednesday we then had a whole morning of masterpiece making! Some of us used clay, did a painting, drawing or a collage. We took our time and carefully added details to make our artwork amazing.

In English, we looked at a range of leaflets which advertised events and places. We used our knowledge of instructions to help us pick out the key features on the leaflets. We worked in our colour groups to create a mind map about leaflets.
On Thursday we then made our own leaflets about our art gallery exhibition to showcase our art masterpieces.

We have been practising our Christmas play as a whole key stage. The play is coming together nicely but we would love to practise our lines at home with you.

Notes and Reminders:

Please help your children to practise their lines for the Christmas play, the children will need to know the lines before and after theirs to help with smooth transitions between scenes and entering the stage.

On Wednesday 4th December we are opening the Year 2 classrooms for an art gallery evening. The children have worked hard to create a masterpiece and are looking forward to sharing these with you. The gallery will be open from 3:30-4:00.

Have a lovely weekend,
Year 2 team.
